1. What is traditional Chinese Medicine?

TCM is believed to be one of the oldest forms of medicine. It includes acupuncture, herbal formulations, cupping, Tui Na, and a variety of other modalities. These modalities work to harmonize the body to facilitate natural healing.

2. What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is inserting needles that are smaller than a strand of hair into specific points in the body that stimulate blood flow in order to break up any stagnation causing disharmony. These “microtraumas” bring fresh blood to the points and break up any type of blockage and stagnation to alleviate all types of pain.

3. What is cupping?

Cupping creates suction on the skin using a glass cup. Negative pressure is created in the cup either applying a flame to the cup to remove oxygen before placing it on the skin. It’s useful in reducing pain and soreness throughout the body. Though it may leave cupping marks, they are painless and disappear within days (at most).

4. What is Tui Na?

Tui Na is a Chinese massage technique. It includes the use of hand and arm techniques to massage the soft tissue of the body, stimulation of acupressure points to directly affect the flow of Qi and techniques to realign the musculoskeletal and ligamentous relationships.

5. What is an herbal formula?

The TCM doctor will formulate a natural combination of herbal remedies dependent upon the diagnosis. Each formula is specific to the patient and is all natural ingredient.

6. What does Eric work on?
